First aid rules: the primary thing is to do no harm

Let's remember the rules of first aid. Some people are often advised to learn it by heart, but we recommend adding it to bookmarks or notes. In a stressful situation, you need to have an understandable algorithm of actions.

What shall I do?

1. Look around. Providing care must be safe. Try to ensure this without moving the injured person.
2. Try to assess the condition of the sufferer (consciousness, pulse, breathing).
3. Call for help (call an emergency room, an ambulance, call a taxi, if necessary, emergency services).
4. Make sure that there is no bleeding, and that the person can breathe freely.
5. If necessary (and in the absence of bleeding), start cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
6. Provide the sufferer with a stable position so that the injured parts of the body are not stressed and do not move during movement.

Focus on the feeling, and do not hesitate to ask for help or advice. The right actions in the first minutes after the injury are very important. According to the American Heart Association, proper CPR can save up to 200,000 lives each year. If we talk about the complications of fractures that can be avoided, then the bill will run into millions. So don't neglect first aid, it works!
